All Randall Knifes are
collectible however, some knives are more colectible because of a
unique quality, feature or age. If you have a Randall Knife and
are not sure how collectible it is be sure to consult with a
knowledgeable collector before cleaning or using the knife. A
Randall Knife with a subtle unique feature like the one shown above may
be more valuable or collectible. The Model 11 shown above has a
"Seperate S" Meaning that the "S" was stamped using a seperate
stemping tool as opposed to the current stamp which includes the "S" at
a closer proximity to the mkaer's mark. This subtle difference
can provde a hint as to when the knife may have been made indicating
that it could be older or made using a method or feature that is no
longer available.
A few examples of features that might make a Randall knife more
collectible include configurations that are no longer available, ivory
handles, scrimshaw, customer supplied handle materials, custom
ordered features or upgrades, stainless blades on early knives, spacer
configurations no longer available, miniatures, numbered limited
editions, dealer specials and original sales documentation for older
knives.
